If you're the kind of person who may as well live in a tree stand, who starts planning the next hunt on the way out of the woods, and simply lives for the outdoors, it's time to climb out of your tree and get a Leupold scope.

Leupold is introducing a new line of scopes that's the sum total of everything they've learned in nearly 100 years of working with optics. Quite simply, these riflescopes will outshine and outperform nearly every scope on earth...they had to, if they were going to replace the famous Vari-X® III line, the scopes that helped to make Leupold a legend.

It's the new Leupold® Golden Ring® VX-III, a completely new riflescope line that incorporates new materials, exciting new and exclusive technology, and of course, 100 years of our expertise. Leupold pushed the envelope in every direction...structural design, optics, construction...to give you a better scope, one that's a worthy replacement for the Vari-X III. Everything you demand from an American-made scope, such as legendary Leupold ruggedness, absolute waterproof integrity, and the Leupold Full Lifetime Guarantee is there, but it's the new refinements that make the VX-III the most exciting Leupold in years.

Finger-adjustable windage and elevation dials with resettable pointer dials, marking the zero point.
Three illuminated models provide the reticle-to-target contrast you need when hunting in low light.
Fast-focus eyepiece on all models. Models without the illuminated reticle have a lockable, fast-focus eyepiece so you can securely lock the eyepiece once you've set your reticle focus.
Side focus parallax adjustment is standard on most models, so you can easily focus from any shooting position.
All side focus models have 30mm maintube with increased elevation and windage adjustments (up to 80 minutes of range on some models).
New! Index Matched Lens System™ on VX-III Riflescopes. Leupold users know that for a bright, crisp sight picture with good contrast in all light conditions, proper light management and maximum light transmission is absolutely critical. New for 2004, Leupold's new VX-III riflescopes will feature the Index Matched Lens System, greatly improving upon what was already impeccable light management.

Here's how the Leupold Index Matched Lens System works: Leupold engineers specified very low reflection of light at several key points across the range of colors that the human eye can see. Light that doesn't reflect off the lens surfaces transmits through and contributes to a crisp, true-colored and brilliant image. The light that is transmitted does not bounce around inside the scope, causing glare that can degrade the contrast you want.

Since dozens of different glass types are available to create a lens system that gives you the optical performance you need, the lens technicians had to pick just the right coating material for each individual lens surface, in order to meet the stringent specifications established by Leupold's technical team. They also matched the ideal coating materials to each lens' glass type and layered these different substances to minimize reflections and maximize performance. The result? Some of the new VX-III riflescopes have measured as high as 98 percent TOTAL light transmission, which means you'll get brightness and clarity like you've never seen before.

• Make long-range accuracy and range estimating easy to master.
• Each reticle features multiple aiming points for long ranges and windy conditions.
• Two power selector settings provide an easy way to set the aiming points to match your ballistics.
The Duplex Range Estimating feature is available on select models of VX-III.
Legendary Leupold ruggedness and absolute waterproof and fog proof integrity.
Leupold Full Lifetime Guarantee.

Rectile Descriptions
Leupold Boone and Crockett™ Reticle
Available exclusively in the new VX-III riflescopes, this reticle system will help you take big game at longer distances. Not only does this reticle help determine the range, it provides precise aiming points for easy-to-remember range increments as well as wind deflection.

Leupold Varmint Hunter's Reticle

Available exclusively in the new VX-III riflescopes, this reticle system will help you hit small targets at longer ranges than ever, by helping you determine the range to the target, then providing precise aiming points for easy-to-remember range increments, as well as wind deflection. Aiming points are fine lines, which won’t obscure small targets at long range.

Duplex Reticle

Leupold invented the Duplex design more than 35 years ago. Heavy posts stand out against cover and in twilight conditions, pointing boldly to the intersection. Centering is a snap. The thin crosshairs obscure little. VX-III models use the Duplex reticle for range estimating as well. If you bracket a deer, you can read the range on the power selector ring.

Duplex Illuminated Reticle

Leupold invented the Duplex design more than 35 years ago. Heavy posts stand out against cover and in twilight conditions, pointing boldly to the intersection. Centering is a snap. The thin crosshairs obscure little. VX-III models use the Duplex reticle for range estimating as well. If you bracket a deer, you can read the range on the power selector ring.

Leupold Wide Duplex® Reticle

Leupold designed the new Wide Duplex® reticle with a larger center gate for lightning fast target acquisition, even on a moving target.

Heavy Duplex Reticle

With its heavy posts, the Heavy Duplex reticle is especially useful in low-light conditions.

Illuminated Circle Dot Reticle

Designed for fast target acquisition in any environment, the Illuminated Circle Dot reticle can also be used to estimate range. Available in the VX-III 1.5-5x20mm Illuminated reticle model and Leupold Mark 4 CQ/T scopes.
